Camilla Mazetto, Ph.D.

Post Doctorate Psychologist

Dr. Mazetto is a post-doctoral fellow at the Williamsburg Therapy Group who provides psychotherapy to children and families. She specializes in the treatment of children who find themselves struggling with a wide range of challenges such as early developmental delays, social and communication difficulties, attention deficit and learning differences, anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues. Dr. Mazetto’s expertise includes evaluating and treating young children with signs of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Dr. Mazetto offers a relational, comprehensive, and collaborative approach with families. Working from an integrative stance that draws on psychodynamic principles - which values attachment, relationships, and warmth - she incorporates her knowledge of neuropsychological processes and development into a strengths-based approach to child centered play therapy. Dr. Mazetto provides individual and group therapy to children of all ages as well as parent support.

Working in a variety of settings in Brazil, France, and now New York, Dr. Mazetto has extensive experience in Developmental Psychology and was formerly the coordinator for an autism service in Brazil that implemented a French intervention for neurodevelopmental conditions. Dr. Mazetto has broad experience in neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis, which allows her to understand and convey to parents the underlying processes that might be driving the child’s challenges.

Dr. Mazetto received her PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of São Paulo (Brazil) in collaboration with the University of Paris (Sorbonne). She also completed a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness at NYU. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters in the field of childhood psychology. Dr. Mazetto provides therapy in both English and Portuguese.
