Dr. Hannah Guz is a licensed psychologist treating adults, children, and adolescents. In her work, Dr. Guz provides thoughtful and empathic cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Her clinical specialties include mood and anxiety-related disorders, including depression, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Dr. Guz also focuses her work on substance use, relationship issues in both individuals and couples, and trauma, including sexual assault and interpersonal violence.
Dr. Guz provides a warm, integrative, and holistic approach to psychotherapy, utilizing effective and evidence-based treatments, including CBT and mindfulness-based behavioral treatments such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Dr. Guz provides a non-judgmental and strength-based approach in treatment to help clients define their objectives and values, and work towards improving their lives in meaningful ways.
Dr. Guz received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and completed her pre-doctoral internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. At Maimonides, Dr. Guz trained extensively in serious mental illness, trauma, and anxiety-related disorders. Her previous clinical training experiences include working in both inpatient and outpatient settings at New York City public hospitals, New York State psychiatric inpatient hospitals, and community clinics. Dr. Guz provides therapy in both English and Spanish.
