We are a group of doctoral-level psychologists and psychiatrists in Brooklyn who provide quality mental health care to residents of New York City. As Williamsburg’s first full-service mental health collective, we assist members of this dynamic community by providing therapy, medication management, and neuropsychological assessments. We offer respectful and attentive support, as well as professional discretion in a safe environment that is thoughtfully designed to evoke the feeling of being welcomed into a beautiful and comfortable living room. We are proud to be one of Brooklyn’s neighborhood resources with the far-reaching impact of collaboration between our psychologists and psychiatrists.
What’s the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
A psychologist is a doctoral-level clinician who provides psychotherapy (i.e., “talk” therapy) for a range of emotional challenges, while a neuropsychologist is a specialist who provides testing and recommendations to patients struggling with conditions that affect brain functioning. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can provide medical consultation, evaluation, and management of psychotropic medications, along with other medical recommendations to help with management of mental health issues. Similarly to psychologists, psychiatrists are experienced in providing psychotherapy in addition to their medical expertise.
