Our holistic approach to therapy.
Brooklyn carries its own particular weight. The pace of city life, the pressure of career and relationships, the noise of living close to everything - and sometimes feeling distant from yourself despite it. These are the concerns people bring into our offices. Our Brooklyn team is trained to work with them.
Since 2013, Williamsburg Therapy Group has provided individual, couples, child, and family therapy to Brooklyn residents across the borough. Every psychologist on our team holds a doctoral degree - PhD or PsyD - and is licensed in New York State. That's a clinical standard we hold across every therapist we hire. When you sit down with one of our psychologists, you're working with someone who has completed five to seven years of graduate training in psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment, not someone still working toward full licensure.

According to NAMI, more than 1 in 5 New York City adults experiences a mental health disorder each year - yet less than a third receive treatment. We've seen that reflected in the range of concerns people arrive with - anxiety and burnout, depression and grief, relationship breakdown, trauma, addiction, and the quieter difficulty of not being sure what's wrong. Our clinicians work across all of these areas, and our psychiatry team handles medication management in-house when it's part of the picture.
Therapy at Williamsburg Therapy Group is not a standardized process. Early sessions focus on understanding who you are, what's brought you in, and what meaningful progress would actually look like for you. From there, the work adapts. Some people need structured, cognitive work. Others need space to explore patterns that go further back. Most need both at different points. Our psychologists are trained to read that and adjust - session to session, not just at intake.
We offer in-person sessions at our North Williamsburg office, and online therapy for Brooklyn residents who prefer to meet remotely. Pricing is transparent: licensed psychologists are $315–$450 per 50-minute session; post-doctoral psychologists are $210–$235. We are an out-of-network provider, and we're happy to assist with superbill documentation for clients seeking reimbursement through their insurance plan.
If you're not sure where to start, that's a normal place to be. Our patient coordinators can walk you through the options and help match you with the right clinician before you commit to anything.

What Our Clients Say
FAQ About Therapy in Brooklyn
How much does therapy cost in Brooklyn at Williamsburg Therapy Group?
Session fees range from $210 to $450 depending on the clinician. Licensed psychologists (PhD or PsyD) are $315–$450 per 50-minute session. Post-doctoral psychologists are $210–$235. Exact pricing is listed on each therapist's individual profile page so you know the cost before booking.
Do you accept insurance?
Williamsburg Therapy Group is an out-of-network provider. We do not bill insurance directly, but we provide superbills that many clients use to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card to understand your out-of-network coverage before your first session.
What types of therapy do you offer in Brooklyn?
We offer individual therapy, couples therapy, child therapy, family therapy, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, and neuropsychological testing. Our in-house psychiatry team also provides medication management and evaluation. You can receive multiple types of care within the same practice without being referred elsewhere.
How do I know which Brooklyn therapist is right for me?
Our patient coordinators will speak with you before your first appointment to understand your concerns, preferences, and goals. We'll recommend a specific clinician based on that conversation. If the fit isn't right after the first few sessions, we'll help you transition to someone else on our team - no pressure, no friction.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Most new clients are seen within one to two weeks of their initial inquiry. In some cases, same-week appointments are available. Call us at 347-970-6757 or book directly online.
Do you offer online therapy for Brooklyn residents?
Yes. We offer video therapy sessions for Brooklyn residents who prefer to meet remotely. Online sessions follow the same clinical standards as in-person appointments and are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
How long does therapy typically take?
There's no universal answer. Some people address a specific concern over the course of three to six months. Others engage in longer-term work, particularly when dealing with complex trauma, chronic anxiety, or deep relational patterns. We don't push a particular timeline - the pace is determined by your goals and progress, not a preset program.
What's the difference between a psychologist and a therapist?
A psychologist holds a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) and has completed extensive clinical training in psychological assessment and treatment. The term "therapist" is broader and can apply to professionals with master's-level training. At Williamsburg Therapy Group, every clinician on our team is a doctoral-level psychologist or a post-doctoral fellow supervised by one - which is a higher clinical bar than most practices in Brooklyn.
Ready to Feel Better?
We're here to help - no matter where you are emotionally. We'll pair you with a professional who genuinely cares and has the expertise to help.
